I really like this update format, and the invitations for reflection. I am on my draft 3 and will be definitely using your prompt today as I weed/wade through some big thoughts. Thanks for sharing :)
I feel like if I give my thoughts a space to breathe, they tend to not grab my attention so much during inconvenient times! I'd love to hear how the exploration plays out. And thank YOU for reading!
I love this update format. Very nicely done. We were recently South (Charleston) and I just recall admiring the trees in the south. On a walk with my husband this morning, I even made mention of the southern trees. I think you’re going to love it. I’m excited to follow your publishing journey as well. Looking forward to reading more.
When my family visited North Carolina over Valentine's Day weekend, I was struck by how green it was, because there are so many pine trees mixed in with the broadleaves. It made me feel a little bit closer to home, and that was such an important signal to me that it was the right place to be. I can't help but be a tree girl.
Yay! I'm glad that you like the format - it was fun and different for me too.
It was a very interesting novel! Very genre-bending, but I appreciated that it noticed and acknowledged that as well. You can almost hear the character saying "oh dear, what have I done" as you're nodding along, wondering the same thing as well.
I got my group from all different places. Some are friends that I've known for years and we were just drawn together by our love of writing, others I met at a writing conference, while others still I met from a writing retreat that a bookstore put together. So a little bit of a mix!

The trees!!!

I LOVE trees too! From one tree girl to another 🤗
I like the new structure and content! Getting a peek behind the scenes at who you are and what you’re up to is exciting.
I hadn’t heard of Wound despite it checking many of the boxes I love in a novel. ✨ It’s going on my TBR list! (Is that the right acronym?)

I find it frustrating when neither the book nor the character has self-awareness in those moments! So I’m glad it’s acknowledged
It definitely helped me get through to the end when I was like... wait... there's poetry in this novel? And personal essays? Whuuuu?
Awesome update! Good luck with the move! (:
How did you find a group of readers to give feedback? Was it through a writing group, or is it possible to ask friends for things like this?
So glad you like the update!!
